Bilal El Khannouss has been urged to leave Leicester City permanently after completing a loan-to-buy move on deadline day.
Both El Khannouss and Fatawu‘s futures were subject to speculation in the summer after Leicester‘s immediate relegation back to the Championship last season, being two of their most sellable assets.
Newly-promoted Sunderland explored a move for Fatawu in August, but Football Insider revealed that Leicester’s £30million price tag had led Regis Le Bris’ side to pass on signing the Ghana international.
Leicester also priced Crystal Palace out of a move for El Khannouss by raising his valuation to £35m after Kasey McAteer and James Justin‘s sales, but that didn’t put off other sides interested in the Moroccan.

Leeds put paid to their own chances of signing El Khannouss after Justin’s arrival eased the Foxes’ PSR worries, and they were beaten to the punch after Stuttgart submitted a £26million bid for him on Sunday.
El Khannouss still had an eye on the exit door after his move to Crystal Palace collapsed and the 21-year-old completed an initial loan move to Stuttgart on deadline day, which includes a £26m obligation to buy.
The Morocco international posted on Instagram on Monday with his career at the King Power Stadium all but over, and said: “Thank you to the club and Khun Top for having given me the opportunity to play for this badge.

“I want to thank also my teammates, managers, fans and everyone who belongs to the club for everything the past 12 months.
This place will forever be a part of my story.”
Fatawu was one of several current Leicester players to respond to El Khannouss, and said: “Go for good brother – will miss you Billy”.

Although the likes of Leeds have been made to rue missing out on El Khannouss – and all of their other deadline day targets – Leicester were quick to respond to his departure in a flurry of late-window activity.
The Foxes have made just one permanent signing this summer in the form of Asmir Begovic, but did bolster Marti Cifuentes’ squad further with three loan deals completed before the window slammed shut.
Wales midfielder Jordan James, Feyenoord‘s Argentine attacker Julian Carranza and Burnley’s recent Carabao Cup goalscorer Aaron Ramsey will add further depth for Leicester, as they look to make up for the loss of El Khannouss.
